Watch Out for the Series Premiere of ‘The Event’ on NBC

Want anything more? Well there is much more waiting for you in NBC’s new mystery thriller, ‘The Event’ that will premiere on DISH Network tomorrow night at 9 PM! Just keep this in mind, any of the above mentioned events is not ‘the event’ mentioned in the title!!!
About the Show:
‘The Event’ is the latest crime series that will premiere on DISH Network tonight is going to be an emotional and at the same time high-octane conspiracy thriller! The thriller will follow Sean Walker (Jason Ritter), an everyman who begins to investigate the mysterious disappearance of Leila (Sarah Roemer), his would-be fiancee. In this process Sean without knowing starts to expose something that can be considered as the biggest cover-up in the history of U.S.
Sean’s investigation will create huge waves in the lives of a diverse number of strangers! And it include the newly elected U.S. President Elias Martinez (Golden Globe nominee Blair Underwood)! Sophia Maguire (Emmy Award nominee Laura Innes), the leader of a strange group of prisoners and Leila’s shadowy father (Scott Patterson) also feel the heat of the investigation. The investigation holds the futures of these people. And sooner or later they are about to collide with each other in a global conspiracy which can ultimately change the future of mankind. Interesting… very interesting!
I am definitely going to watch this satellite TV series even if it means that I have to record ‘Lone Star’ another interesting series premiering tonight on my DISH HD DVR! What about you?

Take a Stroll on the Boardwalk with HBO’s New Period Drama ‘Boardwalk Empire’
Take a trip back to Prohibition days without those annoying no-alcohol laws! Light up a cigar and take a sip of your favorite booze as HBO’s ‘Boardwalk Empire’ brings back the 1920’s Atlantic City on tube! The history inspired Period drama is based on the book “Boardwalk Empire: The Birth, High Times and Corruption of Atlantic City,” by Nelson Johnson. So, don’t forget to watch the Atlantic City Boardwalk, circa 1920’s, coming back to life at HBO’s Period Drama ‘Boardwalk Empire’ on DISH Network. With a HDTV at home you can watch the show in DISH HD mode as well!
‘Boardwalk Empire’ is the most eagerly awaited fall series on HBO. Set in the backdrop of Atlantic City in the 20’s the series boasts an interesting storyline where politics and corruption used to go hand in hand! Sounds a bit like “The Sopranos“, right? Well, many TV critics have already started describing the HBO series as the possible successor to “The Sopranos.” Even ‘Boardwalk Empire’ creator Terence Winter has said “It’s comparable. I think it’s probably comparable to Rome [as well]. I guess that is a better comparison because it’s a period piece.”
However, he also added while comparing the new satellite TV series on DISH Network movie channel HBO with the gangster drama “The ’70s felt a little too close to Tony Soprano’s world [and] the ’50s sort of felt like Tony’s dad’s world,” he explained. “And the ’20s, for many reasons, [is where] I ended up, but it just felt [right]. People looked… and sounded different and the music and pop culture were different, and yet it was still accessible. It was still modern enough that it felt like you and I could watch it and… relate to these people.” He also argued that The Sopranos explored the final days of the Mafia while ‘Boardwalk Empire’ “is really the beginning of something. It’s the beginning of a lot of things“.
Now let us take a quick look at the storyline of this much awaited satellite TV drama series: In the 1920s, when the prohibition has just gone into effect, Nucky Thompson (Steve Buscemi) the oily, funny, nihilistic, knobbykneed and corrupt treasurer on Atlantic City is ruling the city with an iron fist. Thompson has his fingers in many pots including alcohol, gambling, prostitution and much more! Power comes easily to Thompson, but it is not so easy to describe what he does with that power when exposed to temptations like money, more power and women! Interesting character, right? Not fully gangster not fully politician! In fact he is both in equal parts! Steve Buscemi reckons “This is one of the best parts I’ve ever had in my life. It’s unusual to play a character who is ambitious, who has a dark side, and yet there’s a lot of humor, as well. It’s so much fun to play a role like this. Really, going to work every day has been a pure joy.” We too think in the same way.
‘Boardwalk Empire’ features a talented lineup that includes both Steve Buscemi and famous director Martin Scorsese. Oh yeah Martin Scorsese has directed the pilot of the new HBO crime drama! But hey, of course you do not need me to tell you that! It is evident from everything including the set, small detailing and many more! The satellite TV drama has a budget of over $50 million. $18 million alone is the reported cost of the 75 min pilot episode that director Martin Scorsese has filmed. So, there’s no wonder HBO’s “Boardwalk Empire” looks like a million dollars!
Getting a compared to “The Sopranos” is no small feat! But then again the satellite TV series on HBO has got universal acclaim. Review aggregate Metacritic has awarded the HBO series a score of 93 out of 100! And that indicated Universal acclaim! It seems that we are up for some amazing period drama! Good Gracious! I am definitely going to savor each drop of the vintage drama!
So don’t forget to take stroll on the “Boardwalk Empire” this Sunday, September 19 at 9:00 ET. And remember the channel – it is HBO, the premium movie channel on DISH Network.
The Magic of ‘Glee’ is Back – Season 2 Premiere on FOX
Gleek out! Go Gaga, go Madonna and it’s time to go Britney over the hottest series on tube! For ‘Glee‘ is coming back on DISH Network with its season 2! And hey, if Glee season 1 was great, with critical acclaim, a loyal fan base, two certified Gold albums and 19 Emmy nominations, this new season of the satellite TV show promises to be overwhelming. So do not forget to watch the show as it premieres its season 2 tonight at 8 PM on Fox! Make sure to watch it on DISH HD mode.
Now that we all are excited about the season 2 of ‘Glee’ let’s take a quick look at the good, the bad and the ‘Uh Glee!’ moments that we will come across in this season of the satellite TV series. Trust me is getting more and more interesting!
In the opening of season 2 you will get a whole recap of the entire season 1 so that you can have a jolly good time tuning in to season 2. Now that’s a good idea. If you are new to ‘Glee’ fan club, you can catch up soon!
In season 2 you will get more shirtless Mike Chang, more special moments of the most volatile couple Rachel and Finn. Expect to see more new faces this season and some songs that will top at the iTune store. And most importantly you get Coach Bieste, the new female football coach. She is bigger, badder and she often talks in the third-person than Coach Sylvester! This way she becomes a formidable opponent for Sue and Will! Sue on the other hand is going to focus more in her diabolical plans so we will get an interesting story plot!
Want to know what you will miss? Matt Rutherford and Coach Ken Tanaka have left the school and there will be no Emma Pillsbury! You will not get to see enough of Britanny and Kurt and hey, Mike Chang appears in just one shirtless scene (And we were feeling happy to see him often!)
Now let us talk about those ‘Uh Glee’ moments that can only make ‘Glee’ better! We will probably not see puck in a Mohawk this season and he will look better without it! We may also see that the relationship between Sam and Finn will develop gradually! But what’s the ultimate ‘Uh Glee’ moment this season? The Britney themed episode of course! Pop diva Britney Spears will appear on the show as herself!!! This will the first time in the history of ‘Glee’ that any pop diva will actually star in the episode! Now that is what we call Glee-licious!
So do not forget to watch ‘Glee’ season 2 on FOX tonight at 8 PM on DISH Network. One thing is sure, you are going to have a great deal of fun!
